Roma Victor--New MMO with Some Interesting Features
http://www.roma-victor.com/sotw/
Looks like a more traditional MMO, minus the lvl system and possessing a skill-based system like the original SWG. Some interesting ideas, like skill decay, the weights and combustion stats, option for a "legendary" permadeath toon, and the player rating system .
Pirates of the Burning Sea looks like it could be cool as well.
Anybody planning on trying either of these?

Participants will be able to spend money buying Sesterces during the Commercial Test. This is an entirely optional aspect of the test. Many people have been asking why our donations page was taken down in late 2004 and this is the answer. We knew that the testing of the VERM (Virtual Economics Revenue Model) was about to begin and we felt that it was fairer to offer something in return to those that wish to donate and we therefore decided to reward them with 'Test Sesterces'.

In other words if you spend £10 GBP purchasing §50 Sesterces during the Commercial Test (an exchange rate of 1:5) then, when the world is wiped at the end of the Commercial Test, your account will be credited with the current equivalent of £10 in Sesterces. So if the exchange rate at the time of the Full Commercial Launch is 1:10 then your account will be credited with §100 Sesterces.

Hardly looks new. It's been in developement for ages. The graphics look as dated or possibley more dated than the Half-Life engine. And the cross is way out of proportion.
I read a bit about it and it looks okay. But not for me.

I think it looks pretty decent, I don't mind the graphics much.

It looks so... "empty" I guess is the word. I don't know, it may ANET talking, but having played Guild Wars I don't think I could stand a game without similar if not better graphics. Tehee, brownie points for me if Gaile reads this!

looks like it was programmed using vrml rather than in an actual 3d package such as Maya.
